Hi friends!
I’m sorry that I haven’t posted in a few days…and really that the posting has been slow for a couple of months now. Let me explain.
First, I have been given an amazing opportunity to help a ministry called GriefShare. They’ve tasked me with assisting in writing two books for them. The first book (which is mostly finished and should be coming out in August) is on common questions related to grief. The second book (which I’m working on right now alongside editors) is a Grief Scripture reference book.
I also have another opportunity to write commentary for The Gospel Project curriculum. (I think it’s for Spring of ‘26 but it’s due in June). I haven’t even started on this one yet.
Lastly (but not really lastly…just the big stuff I’m telling you about), I’m helping another pastor develop curriculum for a new members class in his church. Then we’ll be working on some men’s minsitry stuff too.
One of the cool things about all of these opportunities is that they often cross over with other stuff I’m doing. So it sounds just a little crazier than it is. But it’s still a crazy busy season. (Oh, did I mention that I’m also a full-time pastor?) That means that my hour or so that I had each day for writing a Proverb 4 Today has been taken up with other assignments.
I appreciate your patience. And know that this is still part of my vision for the writing ministry that God has given to me. I think it’ll look a little different in the future. I’m going to move away from daily posts and try to reframe this Substack a little. But I think it will be something that benefits you, the reader, and is more sustainable for me. Hang tight.
Best wishes for your busy God focused life, Mike. I love to read your stuff - whenever it does appear. God is honored and glorified through your writing.
