Welcome to Proverbs4Today

Welcome to Proverbs 4 Today. We aim to give you Christ-centered content based upon the wisdom of Proverbs. Each weekday you’ll receive a short devotional connected to the corresponding Proverb for that day. Paid Subscribers will receive bonus content.

Why Proverbs?

There are two ways to live. The path of wisdom and the path of folly. One leads to life the other to death. Proverbs outlines for us the path of wisdom and warns us against folly. Just as with every book in the Bible, Proverbs points us to Jesus Christ. He is our wisdom! He is the path of life!

There are 31 chapters in Proverbs and each month has 30 or 31 days (unless you’re weird, like February). I try to read one chapter of Proverbs every day. If it’s the 15th day of the month, then I’ll read Proverbs 15. Doing this consistently weaves wisdom into your life.

About Proverbs4Today

Our aim is to be a resource for you as you read through Proverbs. Each weekday we will provide a short devotional based upon a verse from the Proverb for the Day. We will also provide Bonus Content for our paid subscribers. Bonus Content will include deep dives on the text (shout out to my fellow nerds), story time (where I get a bit more personal in interacting with the proverb), Q&A times, and much more.

The Proverbs are also meant to be read in community. I’ll be honest, I haven’t exactly figured out how to create community on this platform. Creating a community on Substack can be a little clunky. But we are going to work together to create a community of poeple who love Jesus and are dedicated to a life of wisdom. Occasionally, Proverbs can be difficult to know how to apply—this is where our community can be of benefit.

Ultimately, our goal is to point people to Christ. We believe that true success and freedom only comes through Christ. The first step to living wisely is to be united to Jesus Christ. Apart from this we might know the path of life, but we’ll have no power to walk along that path. We need Jesus to read and live the Proverbs rightly.
